Mar 04 2010

Product Description
For the first time in history, permanent weight loss can be achieved through a remarkable program that ends food victimization through the use of medication. In Thinner at Last, Steven Lamm, M.D., explains how two medications (fenfluramine and phentermine) taken together actually enhance the body’s natural inclination to be thin and healthy. In this book, you will also learn how to:
– Determine whether you are a candidate for the medications
– Locate a knowledgeable, sympathetic physician
– Distinguish fact from fiction concerning the benefits and risk of Redux (dexfenfluramine)
– Liberate yourself from yo-yo dieting and food obsessions
– Calculate how much weight you can expect to lose — and how quickly

Already proven to be much more effective than traditional diet programs, this plan has helped countless Americans realize their dreams of being thinner at last — not for a month or a year, but for a lifetime.

Safer Than Phen-Fen!

Product Description
After Florida led the way in banning the Phen-Fen weight-loss plan, millions of people began searching for a safe, effective alternative. They’ll find it here, in Harvard-trained M.D. Michael Anchors’ innovative program that’s been touted on national radio and television.Amazon.com Review
Phentermine has been used safely as a weight-loss drug for more than 30 years in the U.S., but when combined with fenfluramine, it produces side effects quite threatening to the heart and lungs. This latest finding has unleashed yet another pharmaceutical controversy. But Phen-Fen has proven so effective in weight loss that many patients won’t stop taking it. Safer Than Phen-Fen!, offering the only weight loss program as effective as Phen-Fen but without the side effects, should thrill these sufferers.

Harvard-trained in biochemistry and an expert on obesity treatment, Dr. Michael Anchors has created a new and safe combination: phentermine and Prozac. Prozac, a serotine reuptake inhibitor, controls appetite. The dosage used in weight control is less than that used to treat depression. Anchors claims that obesity is a genetic, biochemical brain disorder. Discussions on the nature and causes of obesity (as well as the related health risks), how diets contribute to permanent weight gain, and a diet and exercise plan in conjunction with medical therapy all reflect his claim that with new understanding comes more enlightened treatments. A chapter addressed to physicians is consistent with Anchors’s belief that knowledge is power; patients can discuss the treatment put forth in Safer Than Phen-Fen! with their doctors.

From the supplier: How fen-phen and Redux came to be used by approximately 6 mil Americans reflects dangerous practices among the manufacturing, medical and weight loss industries. Both had FDA approval as short-term die aids, but were never supposed to be used together as a diet-drug concoction. Demand for Fen-phen surged in 1992 after one article in an obscure medical journal. In 1995, the FDA was asked to approve Redux, and there were concerns about the drug’s safety because of reports of primary pulmonary hypertension which had been linked to its use, and heart valve damage was also a possibility. After a Mayo Clinic report in July 1997, both drugs were recalled.
